Turmeric Chai and Turmeric Ice tea
When it comes to spices, some of them are acquired taste, please start slow, and taste the flavors, add more or less until your palate gets used to the flavors aroma and sometime intensity. If you find one spices doesn’t work for you, move to the next, some are less intense than others, but all of them will add an incredible amount of anti-oxidantsand healing properties to your diet.
My Turmeric Ginger Tea/ Chai
This is a spiced, aromatic and smooth tea with warming spices. Use coconut, almond or cashew nut milk
For 2 cups of tea use:
- 1 cup water
- 1 cup your choice of almond/ cashew/coconut milk
Adjust the below to your taste
- 1/4 teaspoon ground Turmeric
- 1/4 teaspoon ground Ginger
- 1/8 teaspoon ground Cardamom
- A sprinkleof fresh ground Pepper( it will unlock the benefit of the turmeric and help your body absorb it)
- Raw honey to taste
Bring water to boil with turmeric, ginger and cardamom, turn down heat and simmer for 5 minutes. Stir in nut milk and honey to taste, serve.
Turmeric lemon ice tea
This one I think you should make at least a pitcher, and keep in fridge, it can be very refreshing.
It is sweet and tangy with a kick from the cayenne
- 4-6 cup boiling water
- 4tea bags of choice(such as; chamomile, green, Jasmin, black)
- 1/2 cup lemon juice (use more if you like it citrusy)
- 1/2 teaspoon turmeric
- 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
- Cayenne
- Honey to tastlemon wheel for garnish and some ice
Combinewater, tea bags turmeric, ginger and cayenne in a medium sauce pot. Bringto a boilthen let it sit for 5 minutes, remove tea bags. Once it cools off, pour in the lemon juice and honey, stir and pour into a pitcher filled with ice. Enjoy .
