Ways to use Apple Cider Vinegar
Article by: Popsugar.com
Apple cider vinegar is known to be a major weight-loss booster, but are you using it to its fullest potential? This pantry staple can be utilized for many recipes and meals beyond your standard "ACV shots" (which are not that great for you anyway). Plus, if you can't stand the sour taste but still want to enjoy all of its healing powers, we've got a few ways to mask the flavor, too.
- Weight-Loss- and Immune-Boosting Drinks: Sweeten it up with honey or stevia, or spice it up with cinnamon or cayenne. ACV drinks bring the miraculous powers of this fermented liquid to your diet in a safer way than shots do.
- Salad Dressing: If you're not ready for the tangy, tart taste in a drink, try it in a salad-dressing recipe in lieu of balsamic vinegar.
- Baking Recipes: You can avoid the tart taste altogether and fluff up your baking recipes with a little apple cider vinegar. Try it in a lightened-up cake recipe that tastes as decadent as the Starbucks original.
- Dairy-Free Buttermilk: Speaking of baking, did you know that you can create a dairy-free buttermilk with ACV? As mentioned, it's great for baking and when you mix it with some dairy-free milk, you can hack all of your favorite baking recipes to veganify them or use it in a batch of weekend pancakes.
- Soups: Try using ACV in your soup recipes. Try it in a bone broth, as it can help with digestion (and bone broth is inherently gut-nourishing), or in a chickpea soup or a detoxifying green soup.
